Job Description
As the Manager of Communications and Fund Development, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Afri-Can Alliance’s mission through strategic communication and fundraising initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and implementing communication strategies, cultivating donor relationships, overseeing grant applications, and coordinating fundraising events. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in fundraising and development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to enhance organizational visibility and engagement.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and stakeholders to secure funding and support for organizational initiatives.
- Oversee the creation of compelling content for various platforms, including website, social media, and marketing materials.
- Lead fundraising campaigns and events to meet revenue targets and organizational goals.
- Manage a team of communication and fundraising professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication and fundraising efforts, adjusting strategies as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in communications, fundraising, or related roles, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative initiatives.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices, including grant writing and donor cultivation.
